About

Revoluton Arts is a people-powered organisation on a mission to cultivate grassroots creativity in Luton and put on high-quality creative events. Its programme is designed by, with, and for Luton’s diverse citizens, running events and programmes that aim to inspire and support more Lutonians to engage in creativity in all its forms. Its work ranges from commissioning arts events and projects to capacity building and supporting the growth of creative talent within Luton. Last year, its work ranged from open mic nights and filmmaking sessions for young people through to bringing world-class outdoor performance, such as Dundu, to Bury Park. Revoluton Arts currently receives funding from Arts Council England, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, amongst others.

Under its new creative leadership, Revoluton Arts is developing its five-year strategy that will see more Lutonians engaging both in-person and online as creatives, participants and co-creators. This is alongside building ambitious local and national partnerships to increase cultural reach and collective social impact in Luton and beyond. Revoluton Arts also will seek to better empower and engage various communities through arts and culture — in particular, young people and under-served communities in Luton.

Its strategic focus is on building equitable collaborative models that empower communities and that can be shared with others; investing in local creative talent to build a sustainable infrastructure that contributes to the growth of local audiences; and creating a sustainable approach in the creation, delivery, and realisation of all its work, in respect of legacy-building, resourcing and the environment.

Therefore, they especially welcome applications from people who are currently excluded from the creative industries, particularly in leadership roles, as well as people who might be considering a Board level role for the first time.
