She has spent over twenty years working directly with boards from every angle, as a chief executive, non-executive director, company secretary, lawyer and consultant. Susan was previously chief executive of Independent Audit, a leading specialist in governance, risk and assurance, helping clients understand and improve the effectiveness of their governance. This experience has given her a unique understanding of the boardroom, including what makes a board perform well and the challenges facing boards. Her pragmatic approach to working with boards comes from seeing first-hand what works and understanding the human and dynamic context in which boards operate.
