About

Established in 1865 on the scenic Malvern Hills, Malvern College is regarded as one of England’s great independent schools for students aged 13 - 18. The College sits at the centre of a wider family of eight schools across four countries. A recent review described Malvern College as an 'academic titan with world class facilities and astounding co-curricular pursuits’. Founded during Great Malvern town's spa era, the College has grown and transformed over the last 158 years, and the group now proudly serves a student body of over 820 in the UK and a further 3,100 overseas. The College seamlessly combines a rich heritage with a forward-thinking approach to equip young people for an ever-changing world.

Malvern College actively promotes a set of well-established values known as the  Malvern Qualities, which foster leadership, resilience, curiosity, adaptability, and social responsibility in its students. In addition, the main College offers a broad academic programme, including GCSEs, International GCSEs, A levels, and the International Baccalaureate. In 2022, an exceptional 40% of Malvern College's IB cohort  achieved 40 points or more, with four students scoring above 44 points, a remarkable accomplishment compared to the worldwide average. The College encourages student leadership, fostering independence, risk-taking, and a commitment to service to others.

The last 10 years have seen the College undergo significant growth and diversification. Internationally, it opened its first overseas franchise school, Malvern College Qingdao in 2012, and has since opened franchise schools in mainland China, Hong Kong, Egypt and Japan.  Closer to home, the College encompasses The Downs, Malvern prep school. The College has invested in world-class facilities, including a Science Centre and a Sports Complex, as well as operating thriving commercial lettings and guardianship enterprises. Looking ahead, the College is developing further avenues for growth while remaining focussed on its core charitable and educational mission.
