About

The British Friends of Harvard Business School (BFHBS), seeks to find exceptional British candidates with financial need, and support them to study at the Harvard Business School. BFHBS provides fully funded tuition scholarships, and supports outreach efforts to reach a diverse pool of candidates and strengthen British leadership globally. It also organises and facilitates individual donations directly to the Harvard Business School.

BFHBS was established in 1990 by the educational entrepreneur, Sir Cyril Taylor, when British MBA students at the Harvard Business School were few in number. Together with other founding Trustees, Sir Cyril set out on a mission to fund talented, British students to study at the Harvard Business School free of financial pressures.

Since its founding, the charity has awarded over 70 tuition scholarships worth many millions of dollars. Each scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and have gone through a rigorous selection process.

Today the Trustees of the British Friends of Harvard Business School are renewing its mission to drive access to the world's leading business school and find exceptional British leaders with financial need, who can make a difference in the world.

Traditionally, the British Friends of Harvard Business School scholarships have been awarded in partnership with the US-UK Fulbright Commission. Moving forward, the charity will be awarding scholarships independently, and the incoming Trustees will contribute to spearheading its new strategic vision as well as growing its profile and impact.
