With our membership nearing 30,000 spread over one hundred countries, we recognise that the best way to grow our talent pool is by recommendation. And, past board or C-level experience is not a prerequisite for joining the Nurole club. Each NED, chairperson and charity trustee has to start somewhere; expertise in a particular area is often much more sought after than knowledge of what it is like to sit on a board.

Every time a Nurole member successfully recommends someone for a commercial role, we donate a portion of our fee to a charity of that member’s choice. And we’re thrilled to announce that our recommend-a-role scheme has now earned over £20,000 for big-name charities, such as Unicef and Cancer Research UK, and lesser-known but equally as worthy causes, such as Partnership for Young London, which equips others to help young people in London access the support they need; and California-based Room to Read, which helps to improve literacy and gender equality in education in the developing world.

I’m delighted that we have been able to give so much back to incredibly worthy causes operating all around the world,” says Susie Cummings, Nurole’s founder and CEO. “And as the Nurole network continues its organic expansion, I’m confident that our members will use our recommendation programme to go on to generate hundreds of thousands more pounds for charity.
