The Hackney New School Academy Trust (“HNS”) was founded in 2013 and comprises a primary and a secondary academy. Both schools within the trust have a music specialism - every pupil learns an instrument and the music curriculum is a central part of the school day. They were looking for someone whose primary function was to approve the Queen Mary Strategy and to hold the senior executives to account in pursuing the Strategy’s objectives.

Elliot is the Vice President and Global Head of Digital, Data & Analytics at GSK and has previously led the digital, data and analytics teams for HSBC, Barclays and TU. This was Elliot's first board role.

The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is the UK’s leading network of independent girls’ schools, and the largest single educator of girls in the UK. There are over 19,000 pupils in the 23 independent fee-paying schools and two academies located across England and Wales. They were looking for a Trustee with education and governance experience who could help further the work and aims of the Trust and to chair the GDST Academy Trust Board from mid-to-late 2019.

In less than four weeks Nurole identified Stuart Ross, former Financial Director of British Gas Trading Ltd, ex-CFO of European Directories Holdings BV and Northgate Information Solutions, where he is currently NED. Despite not having a background in education, Stuart's extensive senior management experience and his abiding passion and belief in the power of education made him the perfect candidate.
